Our territory offers a large number of natural and built sites marked by volcanism. In the immediate vicinity of the house, you will discover a landscape unique in Europe, consisting of the famous "sucs", volcanic residues forming small domes so typical and geologically unique.
Volcano country
Many viewpoints will allow you to discover these beautiful landscapes, such as the Pic du Lizieux or the Rocher de Queyrieres. The Haute Loire is a land of volcanoes, and it will seduce you with its great diversity and multitude of sites.
The wild Loire
The Haute Loire is also the birthplace of the Loire, our longest river in France and the last wild river in Europe. The Mont Gerbier de Jonc, next to our highest point in the Haute Loire (the Mont Mezenc), is the birthplace of the river, which then crosses our region to continue its journey to the ocean. Come and follow this nascent river to discover magnificent small villages, steep and green gorges, but also the first castles on the banks of the Loire, such as the Château de Rochebaron, about fifteen kilometres from us.
You can also opt for the Allier gorges, which are also worth a visit! Magnificent tours and detours to admire the gorges and breathtaking landscapes, a small tourist train which, on the detours of the mythical Cévennes line, will give you access to views that are otherwise totally unobstructed!
